How to Set Up Zapier with Lawcus?

Zapier integration empowers Lawcus users to automate their legal workflows by connecting the platform with various other applications. By seamlessly integrating Lawcus with Zapier, legal professionals can streamline their practice, save time, and enhance overall efficiency. Follow these steps to get started with Lawcus on Zapier and unlock the full potential of automation in your legal operations.

Steps to begin using Lawcus on Zapier

  1. You need to log in to Zapier first.

  2. Once logged in, click on Apps.

  3. Search Lawcus in the Search Bar, and verify Lawcus' name and logo and click on the Connect button.

  4. Next, you will be asked to enter your Lawcus API key.

  5. Get the API keys by following the steps mentioned below and enter the API key in the box and click on Yes, Continue button.

That is all! If the right key has been entered, your account will be connected.

How to locate your API Key in your Lawcus Account

To locate the API key in your Lawcus account, please follow the steps outlined below:

  • Login to your Lawcus team account at https://auth.lawcus.com/.

  • Click on your Profile Avatar in the screen's top right corner. Select "Settings" from the dropdown menu. In the Settings menu, click on "Apps & Integrations."

  • Click on the API tokens tab.

  • Provide a name for your token and choose "Zapier" from the dropdown menu. Press "Add" to save your settings.

  • Copy the API key that appears after saving.

What Lawcus Triggers and Actions are Supported?

Supported Triggers

  • New Matter Moved to Stage: Triggers when a matter is moved between stages within the same workflow.

  • New Matter: Triggers when a new matter is created.

  • New Person: Triggers when a new contact person is created.

  • New Company: Triggers when a new contact company is created.

  • Invoice State Changed: Automatically trigger actions whenever the status of a bill or invoice changes.

  • New Communication: Launch workflows when a new communication (such as an email or message) is created.

  • Matter Status Updated: Set off automation when a matter’s status is updated. This applies specifically when a matter is closed and renamed Close Matter.

  • New Task: Start workflows automatically whenever a new task is added.

  • Task Status Updated: Run Zaps when a task’s status changes to Completed.

  • New Calendar Entry: Trigger workflows when a new event is added to your calendar.

  • New Time Entry: Automate actions based on newly logged time entries.

  • New Expense: Instantly react to newly created expense records.

  • New Flat Fee: Kick-off workflows when a new flat fee is recorded.

  • Lead Not Hired: Automatically follow up when a lead is not converted into a client.

  • Find Matter: Finds an existing matter.

  • Find Contact: Finds an existing contact.

  • Find Stage on a Workflow: Finds a stage on a particular workflow by name.

  • Find User: Finds a team member.

  • Find Workflow: Finds a workflow in your team by name.

  • Create Person: Creates a new contact person.

  • Add Task to Matter: Creates a new task for an existing matter.

  • Add Note to Matter: Creates a new comment for an existing matter.

  • Create Company: Creates a new company.

  • Create Matter: Creates a new matter.

  • User Activated Workflow: Trigger a specific workflow within Lawcus using external events or conditions.

  • Create Communication: Automatically create new communications, such as messages or emails, from other connected apps.

  • Add Note to Lead: Seamlessly log notes to your lead records for better tracking and context.

  • Update Person Contact: Keep contact information accurate and up-to-date automatically.

  • Update Matter: Modify matter details without manual updates, save time and reduce errors.

  • Update Task: Automatically update task details based on actions in other tools.

  • Find Invoice: Locate invoices using Client ID, Matter ID, or Invoice Number, perfect for syncing financial records.

  • Find Contact by Custom Field: Retrieve contacts based on custom field criteria for highly targeted workflows.

  • Find Newest Matter by Client Email: Automatically pull the most recent matter associated with a client's email address.

  • Find Matters by Custom Field: Quickly identify matters using custom field matches, ideal for filtering specific cases.

  • Find User (Teammate): Look up teammates by name or email to assign tasks or trigger user-specific workflows.

  • Create Flat Fee: Add flat fee entries through automation, eliminating the need for manual entry.

  • Add Note to Contact: Automatically attach notes to contact records for streamlined communication tracking.

  • Update Lead: Update lead details automatically in response to triggers from other systems, enabling endless automation possibilities.

Answer: To create a lead in Zapier, you can find the Create Lead action in our app.

Answer: The term 'token name' signifies the unique name assigned to the API key used for accessing Lawcus within the Zapier integration.

FAQ4: Are custom fields supported in the 'Search Contact' result in Zapier?

Answer: Currently, this functionality is unavailable and not supported.

FAQ6: Can I set up a Zap which pulls data from custom fields in a lead?

Answer: We don't have this functionality currently. We have this on our future roadmap and are actively working on bringing this feature to Lawcus.
