Entry rules in Lawcus allow you to define specific conditions or criteria that must be met before a workflow can be triggered. Whether you want to create a single rule or multiple rules, entry rules enable you to control when workflows are activated.

If you have multiple entry rules in a workflow, the automation may or may not initiate when a condition is met. This depends on whether the condition is set as an "AND" or "OR" condition. When using an "AND" condition, all criteria must be met for the workflow to start. On the other hand, an "OR" condition allows the automation to begin if any of the criteria are satisfied.

Understand Steps to Add an Entry Rule to a Workflow

Let's consider an example where you want to notify a client when a file related to their matter is opened. The entry rule, in this case, is the matter tag field. This means that the automation will only be triggered when the trigger contains due diligence matter tags.

  1. Go to Automation and click the + Add Workflow button.

  2. Provide a Workflow Name and Workflow Description for the workflow, and set up the Trigger.

  3. Open the Entry Rules dropdown and select Add Condition.

  4. Choose the field for the entry rule, specify the field condition, and enter the corresponding value.
