Automating task and subtask creation is a powerful feature in Lawcus that allows you to streamline your workflow and save time. By using workflows, you can automatically generate tasks and subtasks, assign them to team members, and ensure that all necessary steps are completed. This article will guide you through the process of automating task and subtask creation with workflows.

Sample Use Case

Let's consider a specific use case to illustrate how task and subtask automation works in Lawcus. In this scenario, a workflow is triggered whenever a matter is moved to the litigation action pipeline. The main task to be created is drafting a statement of claim, and there is also a subtask that involves reviewing the matter's files and client correspondence.

Automating task creation and assignment with workflows

To automate task creation through the create task workflow action, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Automation section from the left side menu and create a new workflow by clicking on "+ Add Workflow."

  2. Setup "Matter moved to stage" as the trigger type for your workflow and click "Continue.”

  3. Select "Add task" as the next action and click "Next". Set up the new action by binding values from the trigger. This ensures that the task details are automatically populated based on the matter that triggered the workflow.

Automating subtask creation in workflows

To add one or multiple subtasks under a main task in workflow automation, follow these steps:

  1. After selecting "Add Task" in Step 3 above, locate the "Subtasks" field and click the "+" button.

  2. Enter the name of the subtask in the "Task title" field and assign it to an attorney or team member responsible for completing the subtask.

  3. Click "Save" to wrap up the process.

By automating task and subtask creation with workflows, you can ensure that important steps and actions are never missed or delayed. This feature is particularly useful for complex processes that involve multiple team members and sequential tasks. Take advantage of Lawcus workflows to streamline your work and improve efficiency.
