Manage Not Hired Leads and Customize Not Hired Reasons

Learn how to mark leads as Not Hired and customize Not Hired Reasons to streamline your intake process.

Written by Devanshi Kackar

When a potential client decides not to move forward with your firm, it is recommended to mark the lead as Not Hired rather than delete it. This preserves the lead's information and history, allowing you to reactivate the lead in the future if they decide to work with your firm.

Deleting a lead permanently removes all associated information from Lawcus and cannot be undone.

Mark a Lead as Not Hired

Follow these steps to mark a lead as Not Hired:

  1. Navigate to Leads from the left navigation panel.

  2. Locate and open the lead you want to update.

  3. Under the Quick Actions panel on the right, click Did Not Hire.

  4. Select a Not Hired Reason. This field is required.

  5. Save your changes.

The lead will be marked as Not Hired while all of its information remains available for future reference or reactivation.

Customize Not Hired Reasons

Lawcus allows you to customize the list of Not Hired Reasons to better match your firm's intake process.

To add or manage Not Hired Reasons:

  1. Navigate to Leads from the left navigation panel.

  2. Click More Actions in the upper-right corner.

  3. Select Not Hired Reasons.

  4. Enter a new reason in the text box and press Enter to save it.

  5. To edit or delete the customized reasons, hover over the reason and select the Edit (Pencil) or Delete (Trash) icon.

Your custom reasons will be available whenever a lead is marked as Not Hired.

Note: The default Not Hired Reasons provided by Lawcus cannot be deleted. You can only edit or delete the custom reasons that you create.

Summary

Marking a lead as Not Hired preserves the lead's information while keeping your database organized. You can also customize the available Not Hired Reasons to align with your firm's workflow and reporting needs.
