How to Assign Tasks to Clients in Lawcus?

Lawcus allows you to involve your clients in activities related to their matters by assigning tasks to them. This collaborative approach empowers clients to contribute directly to the progress of their cases, from industry due diligence to discovering new locations. To ensure seamless task assignment, you must share the matter with the client on the Client Portal. In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of assigning tasks to clients and how clients can make deliverables in response to these tasks.

To assign a task to a client:

1. Navigate to the "Matters" section in your Lawcus dashboard.

2. Choose the matter related to the client to whom you want to assign the task.

3. Once you've selected the appropriate matter, click on the "Tasks" tab.

4. To create a new task, enter a descriptive name for the task in the designated field.

5. Click on the newly created task to open its details.

6. Assign a due date to the task to provide a clear timeline for completion.

7. In the "Assigned To" field, click on the dropdown menu, and select the client to whom you want to assign the task.

8. If necessary, update the task description to provide specific instructions or details related to the task. Once you've filled in the necessary details, click on the "Update" button to save the task with the assigned client.

Client Perspective

When a task is assigned to a client, it becomes accessible to them on their version of the Client Portal. Clients can easily interact with the task and provide deliverables in response.

To make a task deliverable:

1. The client should log in to their Lawcus account and navigate to the "Your Matters" section.

2. Select the matter that has been shared with them by the attorney.

3. In the matter details, click on the "Tasks" tab to view the list of assigned tasks.

4. Locate the specific task assigned to the client and click on it to view its details.

5. To provide the deliverable for the assigned task, the client can upload files, add comments, or fulfill any other requirements specified by the attorney. After completing the task deliverable, the client can click on the "Send" button to submit it to the attorney.
