Related contacts are individuals who have a connection to a matter. Lawcus allows you to easily add and manage related contacts using its Relationships feature.

To add additional contacts to an existing matter:

  1. Click on Matters in the left sidebar to display the Matters screen.

  2. Select the Matter Card that you want to edit.

  3. Click on the Edit Icon or on Edit Matter in the Quick Actions panel to display the Matter details screen.

  4. Click Add related contact to add the related person's name and relation to the client/matter.

  5. Specify the Relation type (Father, Mother, Uncle, Aunt, Attorney, Investigator, etc.).

  6. Type the name of the Relation contact.

Note: As you type, Lawcus will show you a list of contact names that match what you are typing. If the name you want appears in the list, click on the name and then click the ‘Add relation’ button. If you are entering a new name, type the name and press the Enter key on your keyboard. Lawcus will add the new name to your Contacts.

  7. Click the Update button to save your changes and return to the Matter details screen.

The newly added contact will appear in the Client & Contacts panel, making it easy to reference their details.

Note: You can also add additional contact details to a matter while creating the matter entry. Check out our guide on How to add a new matter to learn more.
