A field group is a collection of related custom fields that helps organize custom fields efficiently. By grouping custom fields, you save yourself the stress of scrolling through a long list of custom fields to individually add relevant custom fields to a matter or contact form.

In this help article, we examine the two types of custom field groups you can create:

  • Matter Custom Field Group

  • Contact Custom Field Group

Note: Ensure to create all the custom fields you’d like to add to the new group beforehand

To create matter custom field group:

1. Click user avatar on top-right and click Settings

2. Go to Firm Settings and click Custom fields

3. Navigate to Matter Custom Fields tab

4. Navigate to Custom Groups tab

5. Click Add

6. Enter a group name

7. Select all the custom fields you’d like to include in the group

8. Choose a practice area the new custom field group is specific to, if any

9. Click Create group

To create contact custom field group:

1. Click user avatar on top-right and click Settings

2. Go to Firm Settings and click Custom fields

3. Navigate to Contact Customs Fields\

4. Click Custom Groups

5. Click Add

6. Enter a group name

7. Select all the custom fields you’d like to include in the group

8. Click Create group
