A Comprehensive Guide to Creating Custom Field Groups

A field group is a collection of related custom fields that helps organize custom fields efficiently. By grouping custom fields, you save yourself the stress of scrolling through a long list of custom fields to individually add relevant custom fields to a matter or contact form.

At Lawcus, we offer two options for creating custom field groups.

  • Matter Custom Field Group

  • Contact Custom Field Group

Note: Ensure to create all the custom fields you’d like to add to the new group beforehand

Steps to create a matter custom field group:

1. Click on the Avatar icon on the top-right and click Settings

2. Go to Firm Settings and click Custom fields

3. Navigate to the Matter Custom Fields tab

4. Navigate to the Custom Groups tab

5. Click on Add

6. Enter a Group name

7. Select all the custom fields you’d like to include in the group

8. Choose a Practice Area the new custom field group is specific to, if any

9. Click Create group

Steps to create a contact custom field group:

1. Click the user Avatar Icon on top-right and click Settings

2. Go to Firm Settings and click Custom fields

3. Navigate to Contact Customs Fields

4. Click on Custom Groups

5. Click Add

6. Enter a Group name

7. Select all the Custom fields you’d like to include in the group

8. Click Create group

Ensure all necessary custom fields are created before adding them to a new group. These simple steps empower users to manage and organize custom fields within Lawcus efficiently.
