In Lawcus, maintaining transparency and fostering a balanced client relationship is paramount. We've streamlined the process of entering non-billable time entries, flat fees, and expenses, making it hassle-free for you to manage your legal matters. This guide will walk you through the steps of adding non-billable entries and how to view them effortlessly.
Note: Non-billable activities will automatically be excluded from the invoice.
Adding Non-Billable Time Entry
There are three ways to initiate the process:
Click the pink
+ New Buttonbeside theTimer Clock Icon, then selectNew Time Entryfrom the available options.Navigate to the
Activitiessection in the left-side menu and click theNew Time Entrybutton.Alternatively, go to the
Matterssection in the left-side menu. Select the desired matter, click theTime Tabin the top bar, and chooseAdd.
Fill in all the required details for the time entry. Check the
Non-Billablecheckbox within the Time entry window before clicking on theSavebutton. UseSave & Add Newoption to save the entry and add a new entry. UseSave & Duplicateoption to save the entry and create a duplicate form to retain some of the details.
Adding Non-Billable Flat Fees
There are three ways to initiate the process:

Activitiessection in the left-side menu, and click the dropdown option next toNew Time Entrybutton and selectNew Flat Feefrom the dropdown.Alternatively, go to the
Matterssection in the left-side menu. Select the desired matter, clickFlat Feesin the top bar, and chooseAdd.
Fill in all the required details for the flat fee. Select the
Non-Billablecheckbox within the Flat Fee window before clicking on theSavebutton. UseSave & Add Newoption to save the entry and add a new entry. UseSave & Duplicateoption to save the entry and create a duplicate form to retain some of the details.
Adding Non-Billable Expenses
Similar to adding flat fees, you have multiple options:
Click the pink
+ New Buttonbeside theTimer Clock Icon, then selectNew Expensefrom the available options.From the left-side menu, navigate to
Activities, then click the dropdown option next to theNew Time Entrybutton and selectNew Expensefrom the dropdown.Alternatively, under
Matters, choose the relevant matter, click onExpenses Tabin the top bar, and selectAdd Button.
Fill in all required expense details. Before proceeding, remember to select the
Non-Billablecheckbox within the Expenses window, and finally, click on theSavebutton to complete the process. UseSave & Add Newoption to save the entry and add a new entry. UseSave & Duplicateoption to save the entry and create a duplicate form to retain some of the details.
Viewing Non-Billable Entries
Go to the
Activitiessection and locate theFilterbutton.Choose the desired activity type within the filter options to narrow your search or you may click on the
Time Entries,Expenses, orFlat Feestabs separately to quickly filter the data.Further, refine your search by selecting the appropriate
Billing typeto view the non-billable entries you're interested in.
View and manage non-billable entries using the filtering options, allowing you to maintain a clear overview of your legal activities.
