You generally manage all your matter-related stuff from the matter page which you access from the left menu.
Understanding the Features on Matter Page
Favorite Matters: All stared matters appear in this list.
Recent Matters: All recently opened or interacted matters appear here.
Tab on the Top: This lists all pipelines in use along with quick filters like All Matters, Closed and Open matters.
Column ('n' Hidden Fields): Details of the available columns to customize your view.
Filter: To apply filters.
Density: To change the view of the list of matters.
Grouped By: To group matters based on several items like Attorney, Clients, etc.
Sort: To sort the items and customize your view.
Aggregation: Aggregate values like Trust Balance, Credit Balance, etc.
Export: To export items based on selection or all items.
Check Duplicates Button: To check duplicate matters to merge them.
More Actions: To perform quick actions like setting up Practice Areas, Pipelines, Matters Tags, Matter Locations, etc.
New Matter: Understand how to create a new matter within Lawcus.
Rows per page at the bottom: To customize your view to make the number of items appear on each page.
Understanding the Features on the Matter Details Page
When you click on the Matter Name on the Matter List or the Matter Card on the Pipeline view, you will be taken to the Matter Details page, where you will notice the following features.
Matter Name & Number: In this section, you will find the name of the matter and an edit icon, allowing you to make any necessary changes to the entry. Additionally, you can mark a matter as starred by clicking on the star. Starred matters will be conveniently listed at the top of the Favorite Matters list in the left sidebar.
Matter Tabs: The Matter Details screen consists of various tabs to access specific details of the matter:
Info: View general details of the matter.
Tasks: Access a list of tasks associated with the matter.
Files: View files exchanged with the client.
Calendar: Access information about meetings with the client.
Interactions: View all communications associated with the matter.
Time: View details of time spent on the matter.
Expenses: View details of expenses related to the matter.
Flat Fees: Access details of any charged flat fees.
Invoices: View a list of invoices related to the matter.
Transactions: Access other transactions related to the matter, such as Deposit entries.
Request Info: List of different requests like eSignature requests and their status.
βMatter Information: This section contains essential information, such as the matter's name, estimated value, and the names of the originating and responsible attorneys.
Activity History: Details of all your activities or interactions with the client.

Notes about the matter or client.
Notes about a Meeting.
A record of a Fact.
Details of an issue related to the client or matter.
A Phone log entry.
An Email log entry.
A secure message entry.
Visibility Settings: You can set the visibility of the matter to control who can access it.
Close the Matter Details: Click this option to close the Matter Details screen and return to the previous screen.
Quick Actions panel: Use the Quick Actions panel to perform the following actions with this matter entry quickly:
Edit Matter
Set visibility to public or private
Close Matter
Delete Matter
Clone Matter
Add Timesheet
Add Expenses
Add Flat Fees
Apply Workflow
Send intake form.

Share matter with Client
Financial information: This panel contains a summary of the matter-related financial information, including the estimated matter value, outstanding balances, and un-invoiced amounts. You can also directly create an invoice, and request funds from this panel.
βClient and Contacts Panel: The Client and Contacts panel is at the bottom right corner of the Matter Details screen. It displays the client's name and the names of the billing contact and relatives (if entered into the system).
Starred Notes: Important notes are marked with a star for quick reference and easy access.
Pinned Notes: Notes are pinned to ensure they remain visible in this section regardless of other updates.
FAQ Section
FAQ1: How do I fix a matter that disappeared on matter-view and can only be found if I search the contact's name?
Answer: If you can find the matter when you search with the contact's name, then it is possible that it is on another pipeline.
FAQ2: Why can't I access the financial information section for invoice creation in Lawcus?
Answer: Access to the financial information section is controlled by your firm administrator. If you are unable to access it, you may not have the necessary permissions. Contact your firm administrator to confirm your access. If you have the necessary permissions but still cannot access the section, please reach out to Lawcus support for further assistance.
FAQ3: Can I remove the "Files" tab in a matter's interface?
Answer: No, you can't. It is needed for Client Portal.
FAQ4: Why are secure messages from clients showing in the Interactions tab rather than in the client's matter?
Answer: The client is probably sending a direct message without selecting the concerned matter.
