Time Insights in Lawcus help you understand how time is being tracked, utilized, and converted into billable value. It provides visibility into both individual productivity and firm-wide performance, allowing you to make informed decisions about time management and billing.

Time Insights are part of the broader Lawcus Insights framework and follow the same consistent structure, making it easy to navigate and analyze data.

Accessing Time Insights

You can access Time Insights from:

Activities → Insights → Time Insights

Within Time Insights, you will find two perspectives:

  • My Time Insights – Focused on your personal activity

  • All Time Insights – Focused on team or firm-wide activity


My Time Insights

My Time Insights provides analytics based only on your own activity in Lawcus.

What you’ll see:

  • Time entries you personally logged

  • Your billable vs non-billable time

  • Personal productivity and utilization trends

  • Insights to help manage your daily work and billing habits

Access Requirements:

  • Available to Admins, Members, and users with permission to My Insights (Time).

    To assign this permission, go to the user avatar icon → Manage Your Organization → Roles and Permissions, and enable My Insights (Time).

  • It requires access to My Activities or Team Activities

Note: If you do not see this view, it may be due to permission restrictions set by your administrator.


All Time Insights

All Time Insights provides a broader view of time tracking across your firm.

What you’ll see:

  • Combined time data from multiple users

  • Comparisons across roles, titles, or time periods

  • Firm-level insights for planning and performance tracking

Access Requirements:

  • Available to Admins, Members, and users with permission to All Insights (Time).

    To assign this permission, go to the user avatar icon → Manage Your Organization → Roles and Permissions, and enable All Insights (Time).

  • Requires access to Team Activities

Understanding the Dashboard

Once inside the Insights dashboard, you will see two sections: My Insights and All Insights. Each section contains multiple charts that help you analyze different aspects of your time tracking and billing performance.

These charts are interactive and provide flexibility in how you view and explore your data.

Chart Capabilities

All charts in Time Insights support the following features:

  • View by Hours or Amount

    Switch between time-based and financial views depending on your analysis needs

  • Chart View and Table View

    Toggle between visual charts and detailed tabular data

  • Expand Charts

    Enlarge charts for a clearer and more focused view

  • Export Options

    Export individual charts for reporting or sharing purposes

  • Flexible Sorting in Tables

    Sort table columns based on your preference to analyze data the way you need


Customizing Your Dashboard

Time Insights allows you to customize your dashboard layout based on your preferences.


Edit Layout

You can adjust how charts appear on your dashboard by:

  • Reordering charts

  • Moving charts to different positions

  • Removing charts you don’t need

This helps you prioritize the data that matters most to you.

Add Charts

You can also add charts to your dashboard to include additional insights relevant to your workflow.

Label Display Settings

You can control how labels appear on charts:

  • Show Full Labels – Displays complete names for better clarity

  • Show Abbreviated Labels – Shortens labels for a more compact view

This setting helps optimize readability depending on your screen size and preference.
