When preparing invoices for your legal services, it's common to provide billing relief to your clients through discounts. Lawcus allows you to apply these discounts before calculating the tax on the invoice. You can choose to apply either a flat dollar discount or a percentage-based discount.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to add tax after applying a discount in Lawcus:

  1. Navigate to Invoices from the left sidebar menu.

  2. Create a new invoice or open one in draft stage. In this case, we choose the latter by clicking Edit on a draft invoice.

  3. Navigate to the Fees and Entries sections and enter a flat dollar or percentage in the discount field.

  4. Click Add Tax, then check the box of the desired tax or enter a new tax.

  5. Save the invoice or send it straight away to the client.

By following these steps, you can easily add tax after applying a discount to an invoice in Lawcus, ensuring accurate and transparent billing for your legal services.
