The Matter Closed trigger automatically starts a workflow when a matter is closed in Lawcus. Use it to automate final case-closing tasks, such as sending a closing email, requesting a client review, creating a final invoice, or assigning document-archiving tasks.
Configure the Trigger
When creating a workflow:
Under Step 1 – Setup Trigger Type, click the Select Trigger dropdown.
Select Matter Closed.
Under Trigger By, choose who can initiate the trigger.
Select Anyone to allow the workflow to run regardless of who closes the matter.
Click Continue.
The workflow will start when the matter’s status changes to Closed.
Add Entry Rules
By default, the trigger applies to all closed matters. You can use Entry Rules to limit which matters should trigger the workflow.
For example, you can add conditions based on:
Pipeline
Stage
Custom fields
Tags
Other matter attributes
For detailed instructions, see How to add Entry Rules in Lawcus.
Select Actions
After setting up your trigger, click Continue to select the automated actions you want Lawcus to take. You can pick any action from the available actions list, such as sending closing emails, creating final invoices, or assigning file-archiving tasks to your team.
Summary
The Matter Closed trigger helps you wrap up cases effortlessly. With zero extra setup required, you can pair it with Entry Rules to filter specific matters and automate all your closing tasks with ease.
