This article provides an overview of the Manage Your Organization and Manage Your Subscription sections in Lawcus. Learn how to manage your firm’s users, roles and permissions, user groups, job titles, and subscription settings from one place.
Understanding Manage Your Organization
To access your organization settings:
Click your Avatar in the top-right corner.
Select Manage Your Organization.
The Manage Your Organization section is divided into four main areas:
1. Users
The Users section is divided into three tabs:
Firm Users
This tab lists all users who have been added to your firm and have access to Lawcus. This may include Admins, Owners, Timekeepers, Paralegals, Support Staff, etc.
Client Portal Users
The Client Portal Users tab lists clients who have been invited to access a Matter through the Client Portal and have accepted the invitation.
You can invite Client Portal users from this section or directly from a Matter or Lead.
To learn how to invite a Client Portal user, see Invite Clients to the Client Portal.
If you want to remove a client’s access, you can do so from the same screen. You can also manage the Client Portal settings from there.
Invited Users
This tab lists users who have been invited to your organization but have not yet accepted their invitation. If you would like to, you can reinvite the client or cancel the invitation if needed.
2. Roles and Permissions
The Roles and Permissions section allows you to control what users can access and do within Lawcus.
You can either:
Customize the permissions of existing predefined roles.
Create a custom role and assign specific permissions based on your firm’s requirements.
This allows you to control access based on each team member’s responsibilities.
To learn more about managing user roles and permissions, see Roles and Permissions article.
3. User Groups
User Groups allow you to organize team members into groups, such as attorneys, paralegals, or support staff. You can then assign Matters or Leads to an entire group instead of selecting individual users.
This makes it easier to organize your team and manage work assignments.
Creating a User Group
Click New Group on the right-hand side.
Enter a name for the group.
Select the users you want to add to the group.
Click Create.
Once created, you can use the User Group when assigning work, Matters, or Leads.
4. Job Titles
Job Titles allow you to assign a professional title or role to each team member, such as Attorney, Managing Partner, Paralegal, or Legal Assistant. These titles help clearly identify team members’ roles and can be used in client-facing communications, documents, and other areas where the team member’s professional title is displayed.
Adding a Job Title
Click your Avatar.
Select Job Titles.
Click Add Job Title on the right-hand side.
Enter the Job Title Name and Initials.
Select the users you want to assign the Job Title to.
Save your changes.
