How to Create & Apply Contact Tags in Lawcus?

Create, apply and manage contact tags within Lawcus with quick steps.

Contact Tags in Lawcus allow you to categorize your contacts, making organizing and finding the information you need easier. Let's understand, how to quickly create and apply them to contacts.

Method 1: Steps to Create New Contact Tags under Contacts Page

  1. Click on Contacts from the left side menu.

  2. Click on the Contact Name for existing contacts and for new contacts, select either New Person or New Company buttons.

  3. For existing contacts, click on the Edit Icon next to the Contact Name. Alternatively, hover on the Contact Name under Contact list Page and select the Edit Button to edit.

  4. On the Contact Detail page, click on the Tags Button under Tags Section to view the existing list of contact tags or to add new tags.

  5. Select the available tags or click on the search bar if the list is big or to add a new tag.

  6. If a matching tag is not available, click Enter on your keyboard to create a new tag. Note that you can click on the Down Arrow to select and apply a color to the tag.

Method 2: Steps to Create New Contacts Tags under Settings

  1. Click on your User Avatar and select Settings.

  2. Expand Firm Settings and click on Contact Tags.

  3. Add the new contact tag name under the Tag name and click on the Create button to save the contact tag.

When you apply a tag from Contacts section, you have the option to decide the color but when you create it from Settings, the color will be applied automatically.

You cannot Edit a Tag directly. Rather, you can Delete and Create a New Tag.

Steps to Delete a Contact Tag

  1. Click on your User Avatar and select Settings.

  2. Expand Firm Settings and click on Contact Tags.

  3. Locate the tag you want to delete, and click on the Trash Icon, and finally, click on Yes to confirm.

Steps to Apply Contact Tags to Contacts

  1. To create a new contact, click the New Person or New Company button, or to edit an existing contact, click on the contact's name to access their details and click on the Edit Icon. Alternatively, hover on the Contact from Contact List and click on the Edit Button.

  2. In the contact details view, locate the Tags Section and click on the Tag Button.

  3. If you already have tags created and want to assign an existing one to the contact, type the tag's name in the input field. Lawcus will automatically suggest matching tags as you type. Select the relevant tags to apply.

  4. If the tag you want to use does not exist yet, use Method 2 to create new.

  5. Click on Update or Save.

  6. Once you have either selected an existing tag or created a new one, it will appear as a label in the Tags section of the Contact Info or you can also locate it under the Tags Column of the Contact List.

You can apply multiple tags to contacts as well.
