Starting a timer is a convenient way to track time spent on a task in Lawcus.

How to Start a Timer?

  1. Click on the Clock Icon located on the top navigation bar in Lawcus.

  2. Fill in the applicable information like What are you working on?, Matter Name and Rate (if necessary).

  3. Click on the green play icon to start the timer.

Essential Points to Remember

  1. You can Pause the timer at any time per requirement.

  2. You can create multiple timer lists to track and record the exact time spent on multiple tasks throughout the day without memorization or separate records. Use the same Clock Icon to create multiple timers.

  3. Click the Edit Button next to the Pause or Play button to update the Activity Category if needed, and remember to save any changes made.

Additionally, Lawcus offers the option to start a timer directly from Activities or time under a Matter. Clicking the Green Timer Icon from the timesheet or activity list will enable you to begin tracking time. Remember that any such timer would increase the entered time value of the timesheet.

At the end of the day, don't forget to stop the timer when you've completed the task to ensure accurate time tracking.

Steps to Stop or Pause a Timer

  1. Locate the clock icon on the dashboard's top navigation bar. This Clock Icon represents the timer functionality in Lawcus.

  2. Click on the Clock Icon to access the timer menu. You will see the running timer displayed along with task details.

  3. To stop the timer, click on the Pink Pause Icon associated with the running timer. This will halt the timer and record the time spent on the task up to that point.

FAQ Section

FAQ1: My timer keeps coming back up after I pause it. What should I do?

Answer: You may have Lawcus open in multiple browser tabs, which can cause issues with the timer. To fix this, simply stop the timer on each tab where Lawcus is running. The issue should no longer occur once the timer is stopped across all tabs.
