Updated this week

Lawcus has redeveloped the Calendar feature to enhance the user experience. It has been improved, upgraded, and given new elements, making it robust, contemporary, and able to meet the increasing user requirements.

Important Note: To seamlessly enjoy the upgraded Calendar feature in Lawcus, users must re-integrate their Google/Outlook calendars to resolve any sync issues.

For re-integration, you must Connect your Google Workspace and Enable Calendar & Mail Integration or set up Outlook email and calendar integration. Please explore the following articles:

Different elements of the Lawcus Calendar:

Since it is now more robust and inclusive, here are the different aspects of the Lawcus calendar for your understanding;

1. Customize Your View

You can customize the view of your calendar based on your requirements. At present, you have the following options:

a) Month View: The Calendar will appear for a month, and the default will be the current month.

b) Week View: The calendar will appear for a week, including weekends, and the default will be the current week.

c) Day View: The calendar will appear for today.

d) List View: This view lists all events for a day, and it shows today's events by default.

Note that the color code shows the calendar name for better visualization.

e) Schedule View: This is a visual upgrade of events for a particular day. It shows user events in an hourly Gantt Chart format for quick visualization and management.

For better visualization, all calendars appear on the left bar, and time appears on the top bar.

2. View the Calendar Period and Navigate to the next or previous period

The arrow marks help you to navigate to the previous or next period based on the view selection. You see the selected period next to the arrow (bold text).

3. + New Event

This button is precisely to create new events on the calendar. You can also click on Calendar on specific dates and times to create new events. You can explore this article to learn more about creating new calendar events. This article also covers how to edit or delete an event if required.

4. The Hamburger Menu

This button quickly enables or disables (expands or collapses) the right-side panel containing the calendar, My Calendar, and Other Calendars for quick navigation.

5. Calendar on the right-side panel

This is for easy navigation to a particular date without many clicks. You can also quickly select the year from the dropdown and use the right and left arrow marks to change the months.

6. My Calendar

This displays all your calendars in one place. You can also see the desired calendar by clicking the checkbox at the beginning. You can edit the calendars by clicking the Edit icon next to each calendar. You can add new calendars by clicking the "+" icon. You can also collapse or expand the view of your calendars. To understand how to manage calendars efficiently, please explore this article.

7. Other Calendars

This shows all calendars shared with you by other users. Unlike My Calendars, you cannot edit or manage these. However, you can select the checkbox to see the calendars you wish to display in your Calendar window.

Please note that if you have multiple "Other Calendars," they will appear in separate columns for a cleaner view.

Other Important Features

There are several other important features within the new calendar:

1. Drag and Drop to Edit the Calendars

You can drag and drop events within your calendar. However, when you drag and drop a recurring event, it will ask you to see if you want the changes for that particular event or "This and following events." Upon confirmation, changes will be incorporated to "This Event" or "This and following events."

When you drag and drop an event from a repeating series and select "This and following events," a new repeat series will be created, starting from the event you moved, as if it were the first event in the series.

2. All Day Toggle

When you create a new event and click on the column directly (highlighted in red) to create the event, it will automatically keep the "All Day" toggle open for ease of use.

3. More options on a new page

When you create a new event, you will notice a "More Options" button at the bottom. If you click on that, the new event opens in a new window for a cleaner view, and more options, such as Event Tags and Reminders, are added to the creation page.

Points to Remember

  • Updating a full-day event from the old code on Google may result in duplicate entries. Please take care of that. So, updates made in Lawcus will reflect on Google, but updates made directly on Google will not sync back to Lawcus.

  • Scheduling pages created before the new update will be deleted. Users will need to recreate them.

  • Creating an event in Outlook adds an extra event in Lawcus by listing the organizer as a guest.

  • For recurring events, updating "This and following events" in Lawcus works correctly in Lawcus but causes duplicates in Outlook—one for the original date and another for the updated date.

  • To view events from Lawcus on your Outlook or Gmail calendars, ensure both platforms use the same email address, and log in with that email on both accounts.

That is all! Please explore other linked articles for more information.
