How to Set Up the Lead Created Trigger in Lawcus

Learn how to set up the Lead Created trigger to automatically run workflows the moment a new lead is added to your system.

Written by Devanshi Kackar

The Lead Created trigger automatically starts a workflow when a new lead is created in Lawcus. Use it to streamline your intake process by sending welcome messages, assigning follow-up tasks, or notifying team members as soon as a new lead enters your system.

Configure the Trigger

When building your workflow, start by picking your trigger.

Under Step 1 – Setup Trigger type, click the dropdown menu and select Lead created.

Once selected, click Continue to decide when this workflow should run.

Configure the Workflow Setup

In Step 2 – Setup, you can specify where the lead needs to be created. Because leads in Lawcus live in a single dedicated pipeline called Lead intake, setting this up is quick and easy:

  • All New Leads (Any Stage): Leave the Stage field blank to run the workflow for every new lead created, regardless of which stage they enter first.

  • Leads in a Specific Stage: Select a specific Stage and pipeline as lead intake from the dropdown to run the workflow only when a new lead is created directly in that stage (e.g., New Inquiry).

Add Entry Rules

If you need extra control, expand the optional Entry Rules section. Entry Rules work as filters so the workflow only executes if the lead meets specific criteria, like having a certain lead source, tag, or custom field filled out.

For step-by-step guidance, take a look at our Entry Rules article.

Select Actions

Once your trigger and filters are configured, click Continue to choose your automated actions. You can pick any action from the available actions list, such as creating follow-up tasks, sending welcome emails or SMS messages, or scheduling intake events.

Summary

The Lead Created trigger helps you automate your intake process from the very second a lead enters Lawcus. Simply choose whether to apply it to all new leads or a specific intake stage, set your actions, and let Lawcus handle the follow-up.
