How to Set Up the Lead Updated Trigger in Lawcus

Learn how to set up the Lead Updated trigger to automatically run workflows whenever changes are made to a lead.

Written by Devanshi Kackar

The Lead Updated trigger automatically kicks off a workflow whenever an existing lead's details are edited and saved in Lawcus. This is ideal for keeping team members notified when contact details change or for triggering tasks when new info is logged.

Configure the Lead Updated Trigger

When creating a workflow:

  1. Under Step 1 – Setup Trigger Type, click the Select Trigger dropdown.

  2. Select Lead Updated.

  3. Click Continue.

The workflow will start whenever changes to an existing lead are saved.

Note: The workflow runs each time a lead is updated and saved. If the same lead is edited multiple times, the workflow will run for each update unless you use Entry Rules to limit when it executes.

Add Entry Rules

To keep your workflow from running on every single edit, expand the optional Entry Rules section. Here you can add specific filters so the workflow only runs when relevant details (like a specific custom field value or tag) are updated.

For help setting up filters, check out our Entry Rules article.

Select Actions

Once your trigger is selected, click Continue to assign actions. You can pick any action from the available actions list, such as sending internal email notifications, updating matter records, or assigning follow-up tasks to your team.

Summary

The Lead Updated trigger ensures your firm responds instantly whenever prospective client details change. With zero setup required out of the box, you can pair it with Entry Rules and automated actions for maximum control.
