The Event Created trigger automatically starts a workflow whenever a new event is created and saved on your Lawcus calendar. This is ideal for streamlining your calendar management, allowing you to automatically send email notifications to attendees, notify your internal team, or create follow-up tasks as soon as an event is scheduled.
Configure the Event Created Trigger
When creating a workflow:
Under
Step 1 – Setup Trigger Type, click the Select Trigger dropdown.Select
Event created.Click
Continue.
The workflow will execute automatically whenever any new calendar event is created across your account.
Add Entry Rules
If you want the workflow to run only for specific types of calendar entries, you can expand the optional Entry Rules section. Entry Rules allow you to set precise filter conditions based on event details, such as:
Event Title or Name (e.g., triggering only if the title contains "Consultation" or "Court Hearing").
Event Tags (e.g., filtering by tags like Intake, Deposition, or Internal Meeting).
Start Date and Time or associated Matter Details.
For step-by-step guidance on setting up these filters, check out our Entry Rules article.
Select Actions
Once your trigger and entry rules are configured, click Continue to select the automated actions you want to run. You can pick any action from the available list based on your firm's specific needs. Some common examples include:
Sending confirmation or thank-you emails to clients or attendees.
Notifying your internal team via email or SMS about the upcoming scheduled event.
Creating follow-up tasks for your team to prepare for the meeting.
Updating matter records automatically if the event is linked to an existing case.
Summary
The Event Created trigger ensures your team stays ahead of every calendar appointment. With zero setup required out of the box, you can use Entry Rules to filter specific event titles or tags, and pick any automated actions—such as sending reminders or creating preparation tasks—to keep your processes moving smoothly.
